Scan Japanese Pokémon cards and see their value

Updated October 21, 2026 · checked against the app and its price data

TCG Vault scans Japanese Pokémon cards and shows their price — on TCGplayer in US dollars and at Yuyu-tei, one of Japan’s largest card shops, in yen.

Point your iPhone at a Japanese card: TCG Vault reads its number and name, finds the exact printing and shows what it’s worth. More than 23,000 Japanese printings have a TCGplayer price in the app and nearly 17,000 have a Yuyu-tei price.

With your iPhone set to Japanese, card names show in Japanese and you can search by Japanese name. English Pokémon cards and 11 other games scan in the same app.

How it works

  1. Open the scanner and hold the card in the frame. TCG Vault reads the card number (like 029/193) and the name, in Japanese or English.

  2. It matches the card against its Japanese catalog and shows the printing with its price. Open the card to see the TCGplayer and Yuyu-tei prices side by side.

  3. Add it to a binder: Japanese and English cards can sit in the same collection, with a running total.
