How to check a Digimon card’s value with your iPhone
-
Step 1
Pick Digimon and point the camera
Choose Digimon in the game menu at the top of the scanner and hold the card flat inside the frame.
-
Step 2
TCG Vault reads the card
On-device text recognition reads the card’s printed text, including the number at the right end of the name bar (such as BT1-084), and TCG Vault matches the artwork to pick the version.
-
Step 3
See the price, save the card
The market price, refreshed daily and shown in your own currency, appears with the card. Add it to a collection and the collection’s total value updates.
On each card you see its name, set, collector number, rarity and market price. Premium adds 1-, 3- and 6-month price history, more than one collection and a direct link to the card on the marketplace. Auto mode keeps scanning as you swap cards and flags duplicates, which helps with a stack of new pulls.
What to check on a Digimon card
-
01
The number is at the end of the name bar
Number, rarity and block icon sit together at the right end of the name bar: BT1-084, EX12-037, ST23-06. BT is a booster, EX an extra booster, ST a starter deck, P a promo.
-
02
Parallels keep the number and the rarity
A parallel (alternate art) has the same number and rarity as the base card; newer ones print a ★ before the rarity, older ones differ only in art and foil. Compare the artwork TCG Vault shows with your card.
-
03
Release Special Boosters mix older numbers
Their cards are printed with the numbers of the sets they come from (BT1 to BT3 inside Ver. 1.0), and some of their rare pulls are among the most valuable Digimon cards. The number alone doesn’t tell you the box it came from.
-
04
Japanese and English cards share numbers
Only the card text tells them apart. TCG Vault’s Digimon catalog covers the English-language cards sold on TCGplayer.
TCG Vault and other Digimon scanner apps
Digimon collectors end up with multi-game scanners, since we found none made for Digimon alone. TCG Vault prices each Digimon version next to the rest of your collection.
Why collectors use TCG Vault for Digimon
- Digimon and eleven other games in one app, so a mixed collection doesn’t need a scanner per game.
- Market prices refreshed daily and shown in your own currency (30+ currencies), with the Cardmarket price next to the TCGplayer one wherever Cardmarket lists the card.
- A running total of what your collection is worth, with 1-, 3- and 6-month price history on Premium.
- Auto mode for stacks: keep swapping cards and it keeps scanning, flagging the duplicates.
| App | Games | Free scanning | Paid plan (US) | App Store rating (count) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TCG Vault | 12 games, Digimon included | 3 scans a day | Premium, weekly or yearly | 4.6 (83) |
| TCGplayer | Every game sold on TCGplayer | Free | None listed | 4.2 (15,753) |
| HoloDex | Eleven games, Digimon included | Limited | From $4.99/week or $49.99/yr | 4.8 (23,601) |
Checked on October 2, 2026 on each app’s US App Store listing and website. Ratings are US App Store averages; prices are as listed there and change over time.
When another app fits better
- TCGplayer fits better if you buy and sell on TCGplayer: scanning is free and the marketplace is built in.
- HoloDex fits better if you also collect Dragon Ball Super, which TCG Vault does not cover.
Digimon card scanner FAQ
What is the best Digimon card scanner app?
We found no Digimon-only scanner on the App Store, so it comes down to multi-game apps. TCG Vault reads Digimon cards, finds the parallel or base version and shows its market price in your currency next to your other games; the TCGplayer app is the free option if you buy on TCGplayer.
Is there a free Digimon card scanner?

How do I check what my Digimon cards are worth?
