When TCG Vault is the better fit
-
Your main question is “what is this worth?”
TCG Vault is built around the scanner: point the camera at a card and the market price appears on screen, then save the card to a collection with a running total.
-
You go through stacks
Auto mode keeps scanning as each card comes into frame and flags duplicates, so a pile of new pulls goes quickly.
-
You want one marketplace’s prices specifically
Prices are market data from one marketplace, refreshed daily, in any of 30+ currencies, with a direct link to the card there on Premium.
-
You like a smaller app
No social feed and no marketplace inside the app: a scanner, a price and your collections.
TCG Vault covers Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Star Wars: Unlimited, Digimon, Union Arena, Gundam, Riftbound and Grand Archive. If your collection sits inside that list, you won’t miss a game.
When Collectr is the better fit
- You use Android or want to check your collection in a browser.
- Graded slabs or sealed boxes are a real part of your collection. TCG Vault tracks raw cards only.
- You collect a game outside TCG Vault’s 12. Collectr lists 25+.
- You want years of price history or a data export. TCG Vault charts 1, 3 and 6 months and has no export.
- You enjoy the social side: showcases, creators and the marketplace.

Switching from Collectr
TCG Vault doesn’t import collections from other apps, so moving over means adding cards by scanning or searching them. Auto mode is built for that: it keeps scanning as you swap cards and flags duplicates. Unlimited scanning is part of Premium, which matters if you are moving a big collection.
Before you switch, check that your games are in TCG Vault’s list above, and keep Collectr until you have.
Collectr alternative FAQ
What is the best Collectr alternative?
It depends on why you’re leaving. For free scanning, TCGplayer’s app and Rare Candy both scan without a subscription. For a Pokémon-only app with deep set tracking, Dex. For decks and trades, Dragon Shield. For a simple iPhone scanner that prices cards from 12 games and totals your collection, TCG Vault.
Is there a free alternative to Collectr?
Yes. The TCGplayer app lists no in-app purchases and scans cards from every game sold on TCGplayer, and Rare Candy says you can scan your entire collection for free. TCG Vault is free to download with 3 scans a day; unlimited scanning is part of its premium plan.
How much does Collectr PRO cost?
In September 2026 Collectr listed PRO at $59.99 a year (about $4.99 a month) or $7.99 billed monthly, on its website and its App Store listing. The free plan covers 25+ games and unlimited portfolios; PRO adds unlimited scanning, longer price history, filters and data export.
Can I move my Collectr collection to TCG Vault?
TCG Vault doesn’t import collections from other apps, so you add cards by scanning them or finding them with search. Auto mode is the quickest way through a stack: it keeps scanning as cards come into frame and flags duplicates.
Does TCG Vault track graded cards or sealed product?
No. TCG Vault tracks raw (ungraded) cards at their market price. If graded slabs or sealed boxes are a big part of your collection, Collectr handles both.
Does TCG Vault work on Android or in a browser?
No. TCG Vault is an iPhone app (iOS 16 or later). Collectr, TCGplayer, Rare Candy, Dragon Shield and Dex all have Android apps, and Collectr and Dex also run in a browser.
